Quick, Cheap and Easy Ways to Clean Your Phone

I admit, I’m self-proclaimed germaphobe. But the very thing I touch most — my cell phone — is one of the dirtiest things I come into contact constantly.

After I read this article that states phones have 18 times more bacteria than toilet handles, I’m calling on all of you to do this cleansing that will put your mind and germs at ease. Ewww.

Here are two quick, inexpensive and easy methods to clean your phone:

1. Rubbing Alcohol

I’ve read a lot of blogs that claim rubbing alcohol isn’t good for your phone, but it has worked for me in the past.

Unplug phone and turn it off. Using a lint free cloth or microfiber cloth, pour

Mix 60% rubbing alcohol and 40% distilled water into a bowl. Dab the corner of the cloth with the liquid mix and wipe away. Use a cotton swab to get to the hard-to-reach crevices of your phone and phone case. Do not use a paper towel, as it will cause tiny scratches on the glass.

2. White Vinegar

If you’re still uneasy about using rubbing alcohol, no worries. In a bowl, mix 50% distilled water and 50% white vinegar. Use a microfiber cloth and wipe. Unplug your phone and turn it off.  Dab the corner of the cloth with the liquid mix, then wipe off the phone.

This tip is something I am putting on my regular to-do list. This also makes me think, “What other parts of our lives are we not paying attention to regularly, around the house and in my heart?”

I started to take stock of the things I use often and pay attention to how often I should clean/desanitize things, like my sheets, computer, tablets and yes, the toilet handle, too.
