I’ve talked a lot about how much I love to buy flowers each week. There is a joy in treating yourself with blossoms, whether you’re picking flowers, arranging them or giving them new life!
They truly liven up your home, change the energy and bring you — and those who share your space — so much happiness. But what if you don’t have time to go to the farmers’ market, floral shop or supermarket to get some blossoms? Here’s what I do to change up my room’s ambience in seconds!
Aside from self-help books, I collect design books — from fashion, interior design to spiritual books — that look gorgeous sitting on my coffee table, book shelf or the floor alongside my couch.
Take Action
When I don’t have time to buy flowers, I discovered that splaying open a book to my favorite image gives me a similar rush to having visually stimulating flowers on the table. Maybe it’s because I can feel the energy from the picture. The artist’s styling or the photographer’s point of view as he/she captured the photo viscerally delights my senses.
I also found that it inspires me to flip through and read those books that are sitting closed and are hankering for some attention.
So splay those bad books open, boo, and take a page out of my “Style and Spirit” tips. It may just change up the place around you and space inside you.
What’s your favorite book? How do to change up your ambience? Extra points if it is on the cheap and easy ’cuz I love to save time and money.

Extra Extra
Oui Oui! The book I’m showing in my video and in the last photo is one of my fave design books “French Essence” by Vicki Archer.
The book in the top photo is “Machu Picchu Song of Stone” (Canto de Piedra) by Walter H. Wust. Happy reading and redecorating!
Onward,
